You use "it's" when you mean "it is."
You use "its" when you want to convey possession.
"A lot" is two words. IT IS NEVER ONE WORD UNLESS YOU ADD AN EXTRA L AND YOU GET "ALLOT," WHICH MEANS SOMETHING ELSE ENTIRELY.
Similarly, "alright" is not actually a word. "All right" is what you're looking for.
